The department of Computer Science was established in the year 1981 with an idea of changing the perspective towards the field of computer science. MCA has been one of the historic departments of Delhi University as its inauguration was the first step in India to satisfy the need for Computer Science students in almost every company.
Candidates having a bachelor’s degree in computers are eligible for admission to MCA program offered by Delhi University.
Admission to MCA program is based on the Entrance Exam and Interview. For preparing the final merit list, 85% weightage will be given to the score in the entrance exam and 15% weightage will be given to the score in the interview. The entrance examination shall be of two hours duration.

1. The applicant must have secured an aggregate of 60% or a relevant CGPA in school examinations. The university has relief in annual examination for special category candidates.
2. Candidate need to have an undergraduate degree with mathematical science as a compulsory subject in examinations either from Delhi university or any other recognized university.
DU MCA Selection Process
University conducts an entrance exam in the month of May which is managed by the National Test Agency (NTA). The dates of the exam are posted on Delhi university’s official site.
The results of the exam are declared usually a month after in June and candidates who successfully clear up the exam are called up for the personal interview by the university.
Colleges are allotted to students on the basis of marks they secure in entire process which breaks up into 85% exam marks and 15% interview marks.
It is a 2-hour exam with 50 MCQ and all this is conducted online on a specified portal provided by NTA. The candidate is rewarded with 4 marks for a correct answer and penalized 1 mark for a wrong answer and if anyone doesn’t attempt a question, no marks are deducted for it.

DU MCA Application Process
Delhi university opens up its portal on 2nd April so that students can apply for the course and concludes it around 30th April.
The application process is restricted to online mode only and it is compulsory to register on the common portal provided by Delhi University. All candidates need to follow these steps in order to achieve a successful application to the curriculum.
1. Visit http://cs.du.ac.in/admission/mca/
2. Register by providing a functioning email and Phone Number.
3. After successful registration, the applicant needs to upload the self-attested documents on the portal for further process.
4. Choose the course they would like and fill in the accurate details about earlier education and personal details.
5. The portal will show the payment option for application to the university.
6. An application fee of Rs.700 and Rs.300 is charged from the general category students and reserved category students respectively.
