PREPARATION TIPS FOR 6TH CLASS

Hard work is key to cracking exams and Olympiads. However, all subjects require some specific tips, which are mentioned below:

English:
Focus on grammar and writing, as these are sections in which students tend to lose the maximum number of marks. Practice writing sections of previous papers, along with grammar questions like editing and omission of paragraphs. The latter requires intensive practice, and demand that the students be thorough.

Mathematics:
Initially, stick to concept building. Be thorough with NCERT textbooks before moving on to R.S. Aggarwal books for the Olympiads. NCERT contains many conceptual questions and will help you build a strong foundation.

Science:
These are your formative years and that is why you should pay attention to chapters in Physics and Chemistry. Since Biology is mostly theoretical at this stage, it doesn't require a lot of practice. Physics and Chemistry, however, demand intensive study, and you should make sure that you understand all the concepts well before solving numericals, if any.

Social Science:
Don't simply mug up the facts. The concept matter will be a lot clearer to you once you understand – for instance – how the government works, or what happened during the Indian independence period. Understanding the subject will help you retain and recall effectively during the exam. Plus, you will be able to relate it to current events, and pinpoint historical trends from a panoramic standpoint.

Hindi:
This subject demands intensive practice, for you to score well. Collect several sample papers and practice them till you're thorough.
